Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
Maybe I'm a little slow this morning, but I needed orphans to solve this; unusual for a Medium.

little tough for a medium

I also had to use orphans and even that left some hard thinking. It felt like ti needed orphans.

5:43 another challenging puzzle today. I solved using a chain. I didn't use orphans because the orphan spaces held so many sequential options, which wouldn't help so much unless the difference in the orphan calculation falls high or low.

1:20 - not too bad. The 5 fell in for the top row, then the third and last numbers then had to add up to 8. Came together from there.

Orphans helped me eliminate a second 9 in the bottom row and it came together from there. Don't remember using orphans on a medium before.

2:36 - faster than the easy, and would have been better if I added up straight the forst time!

Not bad 2:14

very tough
I used a semi-orphan approach with the bottom
(which requires J or L = T and since J+L=T+9 & the middle 4 squares contain 2 9s, ...)
