How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

There are very few rules about posting. However, Kakuro.cc is a family-oriented site so there are a few things that will not be tolerated.

It seems like common sense, but people seem to still do it... so for the ones with no sense at all, don't try to impersonate other people.
The staff of JigsawOnline.net have the final say on what is appropriate for the site. Users may be banned for reasons that do not fall into the above categories, but are judged to be offensive or detrimental to JigsawOnline.net. These guidelines may be updated at any time without notice.
We are quite lenient about enforcing these rules, but will act if we feel the site is being dragged down. If you break the rules you will be suspended from posting for a week. If you try to circumvent a ban, then your ban period will be extended.
