Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
+o-p: easy
-o: possible (seems to require 1 or 2 chains)
nada: we'll see

+o is fairly straightforward but much much easier with +p to help

how many cells did you solve before +p?

searching for a better -o approach, I discovered several things regardless of a 23A cell
a) solve 14 pairs in both 10A and 15A
b) 34D can't have a 1.
c) 31D is either 135679 or 124789

it may be sometime before I fully document -o approach. For now, details for +o-p:
1. Solve 14D and T
2. Using orphans, solve several cells including 789 in both 35A and 31D.
3. N<=4, so 23A contains 2489.
4. 22D is 9742 or 9743, so solve rest of puzzle (I started with 4 in 22D)

Used possibilities and orphans.

-o is my final answer for this intriguing puzzle:
1. Solve first 3 cells.
2. Regardless of N (either N>=5 or N<=4), solve 1's in 10A and 15A, 22D is either 2479 or 3478, and O>=8.
3. Solve left 16A, then rest of puzzle.

Linda +1, although I accept '-o challenges' (because orphans aren't always as helpful as they were here).

Joe and all, the 6th comment on this puzzle is my +o-p approach.
