Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Simplified somewhat bottom half by noting 5D does not contain a 4. So, 20D becomes 839 or 938 and only one works and 5D solves and rest solves. .

An approach
20D=839 or 938 else overflow in 22A.
5D=23 else a) 5D=41 gets overflow in 22A and b) 5D=14 gets overflow in bottom 21A.

(K) Upper 21A=948 or 849. I.e. 13D=94 or 85. This is deduced from 22A=23458 or 23467 in some order. 13D=67 or 76 forces a 7 into one of the 39D More...

My summary of key points of puzzle
- 3 in second slot of 20D and 5D=23 (overflow otherwise)
- cross 7s in the upper rows of the 39Ds determine a) 4 in centre slot of upper 21D and b) 22A is 23458 in some order.
- 13D is 94
- the puzzle solves with prior starting with the bottom half
