Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
Tricky but doable! Needs certainly orphans(!?). There is a lot of information to gather, and it opens up little by little.

had to stare at it until I found my key in the second row. Good puzzle.

Needs orphans and a little thought. My key was the second column; since L = 9 or 7, the for the other cells are limited.

Didn't need orphans but tricky. Used the 7-9s like Mike initially but then got stuck - the final key was in the paired up numbers in the top two rows.

Orphans are NOT needed, but it is tricky.
There are four possible combos to do 14D and 15D

Tricky indeed, but no orphans.

Used orphans and a bit of trial and error. Good puzzle.

Great puzzle, I did not use orphans - classic examples of magic squares (see step 8 below).

1. 16A: Must be 79 or 97
2. 24D (long):
a. Must include 12 and only two cells are possible
b. 5 of 6 cells < 7
3. Both 33A rows:
a. Exactly 3 of 5 cells >= 7, exactly 2 More...

Nada with some thought. Some similarity to Don's solution.
STU=345, so QR=12.
Because of 16A, V=6 or less which means XYZ=789 (33 in 5 cells is 789 and 36 or 45 combo). Since R=1 or 2, W=5 or 6, so V=3 or 4.
In the upper 33A, the lowest value cannot be anywhere except G. This means that More...
