Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

No orphans but a mental chain used

No orphans, filled in possibilities. I guess I missed Chris' cunning twist.

No orphans fairly easy.I did not see any twists.

Easy. I think the 'twist' is realizing that 15A has to have a 3 in it in order to satisfy the puzzles need for three 3's in 11D, 10D and 21D. This forces A to be 9.

yup, me, that was the 'cunning twist'. I'll cut back on the hyperbole in future although I quite liked the ending solution

Cute little kid. Chris, I think you were pretty cunning. It certainly was the key to the solution. No guessing or mental chains required. Fun puzzle.

Hyperbole is acceptable! :-)

Fairly easy nada. If there was a cunning twist, it was counting 1s and 2s combined and seeing that the orphans had to both be a 1 or 2. That forced A to be 9, since 10D and 21D had 4s already placed.

I agree with Chris, nice ending with the 3s forcing A=9, unusual, keep up the hyperbole :-), 2019
