Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
I have done +p and +o and still can't fill in a single cell!

It is actually a fairly straightforward nada - but I looked at the puzzle 10 years ago to see the comments to figure it out... so not really nada for me.
29A has a single solution, and you can place the 5. Then the 4s in rows 1,3,4 mean that 11D must have a 4. I'll leave the rest.

Pretty easy with orphans though it took me a while to see it. (I see from above that Dan has a similar solution but seems to have avoided the orphans):

1) 29A must be {8,7,6,5,3}. Only one choice for F. Fill in 6D.

2) 11D must contain a 4 --- otherwise crossed 4's in 10A and More...

I also had another solution (also with orphans) that begins like this:

1) Count 6's and 7's. Going across, there are at most three (two in 29A and at most one in 15A). Going down, there are at least two (in 8D and 21D). Therefore there is at most one in 23D, but 23D has either two or none. So no 6's or 7's in 23D. Therefore 23D={1,2,3,4,5,8}.

Yes, I see now that Dan is right. The solution I posted does not actually need the orphans.

Dan + 1.

Dan Plus 2

Nada.
Only one combination for 39A=35678
6D=15 so M!=4 and creates 4x in the long downs and it all falls out

Nada, after you work out one possible combo for 29A - easy

Nada on the redo. Thanks

Thank you Dan, straightforward after seeing that.

The trick is that 29A cannot contain a 4 AND F cannot be a 2

I filled the cells in the following order

F,A,I,G,H,E,J,S,X,V,Q,D,M,B,C,K,L,O,P,N,T,Y,R,W,Z,U

+p, which always means nada is possible if you want to keep it all in your head
