Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
+p plus one mandatory mental mega-chain involving 14 of the 15 unsolved squares.

me from here failed to find the pattern.
Don +1 and me from here +1 until find 11 nada cells.

Don +1 (then +o solves)

But, pattern!! Solves it nada.
Pattern is all 'pairs' in long chain must solve to same addition.
eg in 15A:
VW=14 or 23 (not 13 or 24) and
YZ=15 or 24
By logic then 15A=23x15 solved!!

Aspie - Your pattern solution to 15A is interesting, but I don't fully understand it. Can you explain a bit more for those of us who are slower?

Mike, begin simple example. Bottom right four squares TUYZ, if I remember it right are
12,89
12,45
because they are 'connected' YZ pair must add to 6. IS easy to see.
Aspie not too good at explaining with words, prefers numbers and patterns, but VW have the same 'connection' to JK - and More...
