without orphans but with one trial chain

Using the orphans made it fall apart. A nice pride.

Used orphans.Made a few mistakes and had to start again twice.

I must be missing something, the orphans are no help at all.

I found this one tricky, but after finding the solution it is almost obvious (using orphans of course)

Couldn't find a way without orphans, but reasonably easy with them.

ana, the 'orphans' (sometimes known as 'widows' are a pair of cells that only have across or down companions, not both - in this case, the orphans go across. To use them, total up all the rows across, then all the columns down - the total of the orphans is the difference between the across and down totals.

Takes a while, but can be done without orphans.

At first you think the orphans won't help; then they do. Was too lazy to do it without them.
