Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
Had trouble with this one - made some minor eliminations in my head, but needed the undo to work out the logic to remove a possibility from E before I could solve this one. Anyone have an easy way?

Steve, after showing B=1, then 27A must be either 15678 or 14679. the 89 has to be in A so can't be in CDE. After that elimination it all falls into place. Used orphans btw.

Chris, what about 14589 for 27A? Then you can't eliminate 89 in CDE.

I'm with you, Chris. Filled in 10 squares before eliminating the 14589.
Anyone else try eliminating the 69 (or 78 which makes more sense to try 1st) from 15D?
Btw, O<>8 or there's an illegal quad, making Q=5 and 14D 68.
B=1 is easy if you use orphans.
This is a very challenging puzzle.

LOL +1; I had to use a chain to eliminate that possibility.

With orphans, uniqueness in bottom 2 rows forces Y = 4. Easy after that.
