Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Orphans didn't help; had to use chain (hint: concentrate on whether G or H is 5).

Orphans and a chain
free kakuro puzzles | online kakuro puzzles
No chain needed. 27D and 33D must each contain 1 and 6 which gives two possible combos for 33D and three possible for 27D.

Now, if they both contain 7's, then neither can contain the necessary 5. So I=7 and one of the 27D options is removed, leaving two combos only.

Now, both remaining 27D options need a 5, so 33D can't have the 5 solution. then plain sailing ....

Chris, what about the possibility for 27D which doesn't have a 1, 234567?

Not sure why 27D and 33D must have a 1.

Got it eventually thanks to Chris.

me - orphans are 19, so there a 1's cross formed from 10A and 15A forcing 1's into 27D and 33D. Or?

Thanks. I hadn't used orphans yet so the 1 issue hadn't been forced yet. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

Two posibilities of 5 n 6 could solve.

Chris From Fleurance, long time since I have used possible combos, but after the 'if they both contain 7's, then neither can contain the necessary 5', which I understand, I don't see how that leads to I=7?, 2019

... why can't the 7 for 32A be in F?
