Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Used Orphans and a chain

Orphans, no chain. Concentrate on an elimination in K and Q. Falls in place after that.

Managaed it without orphans.

L is either 4 or 5. M or S have to be a 5. I found it easy using a short brain chain to show that L=5 won't work. Then remaining possibilities in 36A end up forcing M to be 5. Then it was standard stuff to finish.

Good puzzle w/out orphans

This was a real challenge for me. Nothing fell into place. Orphans and chains. Some days you're the bug. Somedays you're the windshield.

I think I got the logic solution ....
15D/36A intersection can't be 345 (for the 36A=345789 possibility) because that breaks 13A. So the intersection must be 6789 and 36A=156789 or 246789. Easyish after that, orphans not needed.

Joe +1, no chains

Chris, why can't 36A=345789?
