Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
with orphans and a short chain just about in head, I can make a bit of progress, but then get stuck

It's easy, the lower 15D has to be 78 else there are not enough 7's for 35A and 34A.
This part solves 23D. Which in turn places the 5 in 35A.
The 4 in 34A must go in Y else there's a quad unique rule failure in 34A and 35A.
And solves the entire lower half of the puzzle. The rest falls into place.

24A must be 12678 and 32A must use the 2 solution. Etc.

Super quick nada. I've noticed that if I placed 9 where 13A and 23D cross, then it forces 86 in 23D, 89 in 17D and 69 in 15D, and we get a non unique triplet of 689 in 34A and 35A, thus 9 can't be placed there. Then there is only one place for 5 in 35A and it falls all the way from there.
