How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

I rellay rellay like the update and the huge amount of puzzles you added! I only have one question: is it rellay necessary to press the next button in the Puzzle solved' box all the time? The idea to integrate such a box isn't that bad, but somehow it gets rellay annoying to press the next button More...

just had a go at one of the easiest KAKURO puzelzs, solved it in about 6 mins but it wasn't easy. Much better than Suduko, more logical, not sure how easy kds will find them, they would certainly need some help in the techniques to use to solve them, I'll try and have a go at a hard one later on to see what I think

Hi Lucas, Start the game 2 or 3 times to begin : this problem ouercrcd with iOS4 with earlier versions of the game, but has been corrected in version 1.4. Did you download the latest version?I am not aware of the Hall-of-fame problem. Perhaps do you have a corrupt installation for some reason? Can you try to uninstall and reinstall the app?Thanks,Yan

tried a hard one, really dffciiult however like you countdown to the olympics puzzles, i am sure they become easier with practice. it would be interesting to put a version of an easy one on your blog and see how students cope with it

Yes, they would have to do lots of examples on how to make 8 from 3 nmeubrs (5 2 1 or 4 3 1) for example, but that's good for them. That's why I post Kakuro puzzles on the blog. Glad you like them!

The french crsowosrds game has many bug!!!!!We must start the game 2 or 3 time to begin!The hall of fame don't show the truth.The time of finished game is always 1h08 even if we make 10 minutes!!!When can we have un update?thanks

Sudoko has nothing to do with math. There 'is' a trick to sonilvg the puzzles. Once you understand how it is done, it becomes very addictive. Right now,I am working on a 15 x 15 puzzle. It is just the matter of understanding them in the first place

This one was fun. Very easy compared to the smaurai star earlier. I think I may be getting the hang of seeing the chains and looking for the odd/even crossover.You know that when you shift back to 1-away consecutive sudoku it is going to mess us all up again. Now to get some work done before I start on that jigsaw smaurai
