Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
It took too long and 2 extended chain eliminations. I'll check back later to see if I missed an easier solution.

8:21 - difficult one - one extended chain and a hunch!

No easy solutions. Two extended chains and a lot of time. Although challenging, this type of puzzle isn't much fun because it doesn't require much skill -- just persistence.

I agree with Mike!!!

Assuming no mistakes (I tried to be careful), I only needed one fairly easy extended chain to solve it. I saw one possibility for R did not seem likely - so I tried it (with a younger brain I think it is even doable in your head) - it was fairly long, but easy to get a contradiction and eliminate that number. The rest was straight forward.

In double checking my solution - I made one other interesting observation - no matter where 6 goes in 21(a) - D is determined (which leads to A,B*,C,D,E,F,G,I,Y*) - but is still reguire a short extended chain - but may be easier to do in your head.
* - already solved from orphans

I fail to see how you can say that D is determined (regardless of where 6 goes in 21A - I only had 10 squares left to fill when my chain eliminated the wrong option
