Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

placed the 8 in 18 across the only place it could go as if the answer was 1 2 3 4 8 did the same 23 down as if the answer was 1 2 3 4 5 8 and did the same with 19 across.

very good puzzle. Took me many chains to eliminate possibilities and the puzzle ended up looking as expected

Like John and it's solved

Only one possibility for the 5 in the bottom row, and the rest falls out.

hey, Dave, how did you eliminate the other 5 in the bottom row? It took me quite a bit of work to get to do that (guessed the correct square first, and it all fell into place)

Let's see... if the 5 were in the other place, then 8A would have had to be 413. So the two lower cells in 6D would have had to contain a 2. But we know that 3D also contains a 2, so we eliminate 2s (and 3s) from 5D. That means 5D = 14.

But if 5D = 14, and 3D = 12, then 6D can have no 1s in More...

Tried again and followed Dave's idea.It works fine but like Big John says,How do you eliminate the other place for the 5 in 15 across.
free kakuro puzzles | online kakuro puzzles
Ummm... there are only two possibilities for 5 in 15A. If we eliminate one as per the above note, then there is only one choice.

I eliminated the 23/32 from 5D due to the unique rule. I went down to the last 5 cells trying to eliminate the 5 from the wrong dell in the bottom row!
