Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.
Other variations

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

I thot u were a veteran at this, Coto.
Orphans are 'leftovers', numbers that aren't part of BOTH a row and a column.
usually there is 1 pair, but sometimes 2 pairs (I suppose it's possible to have other orphan patterns, but this site doesn't).
you subtract the sum of the rows from the sum More...

easy with orphans and using orphans is not lazy it is logical.
Coto from NL: add all the down cells then substract from all the across cells.that number is then the addition of the cells that only work one way:either across or down.Example in this puzzle the orphans are J and Q and they total 6 which can only give you a 5 in cell J and a 1 in cell Q

orphans only yielded 1 square tho. I went as far as I could with logic (before I realized I was calculating orphans and had gotten sidetracked) and had deduced the bottom orphan
