Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.
Other variations
Still looking for more puzzles? How about a variation on sudoku? Try Wordoku. Wordoku uses letters instead of numbers and has a hidden 9-letter word! For crossword puzzles, try Free Crossword PUzzles. 2 free crosswords (Easy, Hard) daily.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

+p +o then stuck, took a guess at J which took me right to the end before it turned out to be wrong!
Gave up.

bst=blood, sweat, and tears (or beast for short!). I'm thankful I like challenges - I encourage all not to give up (if you have time).

if you're looking for a quick puzzle to solve, this is probably not it. Shabbir, what were your two guesses? I'm curious to compare later.

After several approaches, my best took me 3 guesses (which worked +p or -o).

+p, I thought it was difficult but straightforward once you ran a couple chains through your head. It did take 18 minutes to work it all out.

I guess I got lucky. Decided 30A didn't need a 9 and bet on that. Went all the way.

my -o approach:
1. Pre-chains: Identify 2 high 27Ds. Also, either L>=8 or P>=8 (not both).
2. 3 chains:
a) if 6A=51: MJ=89 (but can't solve 30A)
b) if K=6: 35A=89657, 30A=8x96x, 9D contains 45, HU contains 12, 4x in ADWZ (but can't solve 20D)
c) if 12D=5214: WA=24, 6A=42 (but can't solve 30A)
