Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Chris, what does your comment mean?

WIthout orphans. Short chain to eliminate incorrect value for N, then rest of puzzle straightforward.

I used possibilities and struggled for a very long time.

Used possibilities and orphans, and then started a chain which solved it.

No orphans. No chains. Used possibilities. Maybe I made an error filling in the possibilities because I found this one quite easy.

er, not sure what I meant now ;-)
will try and re-solve this ...

No orphans but an intuitive flash (aka guess) that worked.

Got d=7. Filled in possibilities. Eliminated 6 and 7 from W by observation (mental chains). Still not enough, therefore used orphans then used solved with basic eliminations, crosses etc.

pfff

solution for nada:
find D=7, and the 45 pair in 15A
there's a 2's cross somewhere in 16A and 15A.

if the X forms with 22D, 6D=42

if the X forms with 10D and 12D, then Z=5 which reflects round to make 6D=42 again.

not too difficult after that ...
