Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
+p by the expedient of showing there is no 5's cross in 31D and 33D.

previous solution used a chain. But now just found a very nice logic solution, but used +p. Might try and see if nada is possible next ..... nice puzzle

nada!!

Nice eye-opening puzzle: I didn't start with nada, but found nada when I tried again (like Chris). I want to type more, but too early to spoil it for others.

Used possibilities and orphans, and some chains, one of which solved it.

used orphans, then not bad

Nada hint time: Obviously 6D=15. Count how many 5's and 6's are needed for 33D and 31D. Then, excluding 3A and 15A, work out where those 56's are going to come from .....

+p. I tried nada but couldn't keep it all in my head.

ok, nada:
It is all down to the 5s and 6s in the two long downs.
6D=15, the remainder of 30A=5789, the remainder of top 35A=6789. But, either a 5 or a 6 will get taken out by 14D. So 35A and 30A can only supply one of 56 to 33D and 31D.
31D must be 56xxxx
Forget about 3A and 15A. Bottom More...

well put Chris, my nada approach was very similar - regardless of 6 in 31D (I=6 or X=6), CHL contains 789 and 56 pair in bottom 35A.

-o+p+chain. I don't understand a nada solution after you have already solved it using p or o. After I solve it, every puzzle is a nada the second time, because I remember the first solution.

+p-o. Good puzzle but couldn't handle nada.

Mike, the puzzle has its own status, regardless of how anyone person solved or didn't solve it. nada is not a property of the solver, its a property of the puzzle.
