Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
This was the hardest one for me this week (Its only 23:50 on Oct 22nd GMT - puzzles showing up earlier and earlier) - I not only needed possibilities, but used one quite long extended logic chain. Does anyone have a straight forward solution?

9:42 Still long

Struggled at first the key was determing that the first number in the line with 15 had to be
7,8 or 9 then the firsat number in the line with
16 had to be a 6. The rest followed pretrty easily

jeman, why must J=7,8,9? I can't work it out ..

Chris, My approach (probably far from optimal) was to notice there was a 5 in E or M - then show M = 5 not possible (this was my long extended logic). Once M not 5 - it did not take long to show J was 7 or 9 - then it finally fell into place.
