Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
No orphans. Used possibilities to finish top two rows

nada. yes, top two rows a little more challenging, but able to mentally eliminate one 10D possibility.

Trick for the top rows: Once you've filled in the bottom three rows, as well as E,H,I,J, you know that C+D=5. Therefore A+B=5. Therefore A+B+F+G=20. But counting the downs tells you that (A+F+K)+(B+G)=23. So K=3.

Nada but I struggled. Bottom three rows did not come easily and top was a lot of work. Tough without anything.

possibilities. Just too tired to work out the nada. Well done to those that did it.

Thanks willo, I like your trick better than mine!

my nada approach:
1. Solve 14D and 7D.

2. Because 4 29D cells >= 5:
a) 29D must contain 876521
b) solve 9 in 17A, 34A, and 32A.
c) easily finish bottom half of puzzle.
d) solve H
e) solve I

3. See Willo's hint for best way to solve rest of puzzle.
