Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

+o+p is difficult but doable. My most efficient approach so far is one chain, then proving what are the two highest 31A cells (regardless of a column intersecting with 31A).

-o +chains is also difficult but doable.

Alternatively, I noticed there are at least 4 columns with a certain number and at least 4 rows with that same number. The questions are, what number is the 'optimal' number for the simplest approach?

-o +hunch. I looked at where the 5 could go in 38A, and there seemed to be only one likely spot. I tried it, and the puzzle solved easily. Tons of 97 combos.

Difficult - used possibilities and orphans and several chains.

-o +2 chains involving 6 in 34D:
1. Solve 3 in 10D and 4 in 34D.
2. One medium chain for OA=68, another medium chain for ON=68.
3. Solve predominantly left side starting with 13A.
4. WZ can't contain 2, so rest is easy.

Gave up. Can't be bothered with chains.

I got the 3 and that's it. Just going to have to bask in the glory of solving the medium puzzle.

more details on my -o approach:
1. If T=4: 9x in KQHN or KQIO, 31D contains 25789, 31A=xx3x24 (no 8), 20D=389 (but can't solve 8's in two left columns). Bottom line, impossible to have adjacent 6789 quads.
2. If OA=68: HL=63, 13A=85, 15A=78 (but 31D can't contain 35689)
3. If ON=68: More...
