Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
Possibilities and orphans and I still can't fill in a single cell. I give up.

Orphans, possibilities, and work. I worked on 33D to eliminate possibilities.

Joe +1. More specifically, a short chain eliminated one 33D cell as the highest value, then rest of puzzle was straightforward

It can be done with orphans and logic. Lots of work on top 3 squares of 21D to determine which is 1 and which is 2. Falls in place after that.

Chain (a veiled guess) about the 1 in the top row succeeded. Not satisfying.

with orphans, should be able to show there's only one 8 or 9 in 33D (consider the effect of top 15D on 89 pairs in 32A and 25A).

33D=345678 or 245679
if the 89 is in the 25A then everything breaks (consider that the last two in 21A can only add to 4 or 5)

its a bit chainy

Orphans. Possibilities may be reduced to avoid an illegal 56 quad in 28A & 35A.

Actually solves very fast and easily if you allow yourself to use both orphans and advance knowledge that the solution must be unique.

Seemed fairly straightforward, +o +p and working the bottom.
