Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

I used orphans.I believe that if you don't use orphans, you have to guess.

Finally got it w/orphans. Never been to that very little place. Looks interesting, however.

Tried it without orphans or possibilities, but messed it up.

I think the DNS server on US west coast gets the daily update considerably later than elsewhere. By the time it becomes first available here, Chris and half a dozen others have already solved it.

Dave, the puzzle is updated at 7am here in CA. Before Oz changed their clocks on the first Sunday of April, it updated at 6am here in CA.

I think this is doable without orphans - trying to see if 6's are the key. Seems to require chains to determine though. Meh.

Easy with orphans. I agree with Chris and John. Without orphans guessing is required. Just too many possibilities.

I suspect it can be done w/o orphans. I just messed up.

Had to use orphans. Doesn't this puzzle originate in Austrailia? I think that's why it loads so late here in California.

The point is that, by the time it is online in California, our friends, especially in Europe, have already seen it for a considerable amount of time. Curious, that!

These puzzles are sponsored by the same guy (Gath) who does the Sudoku.com.au site. The changeovers are according to whatever local time it is in some part of Australia, maybe Brisbane?

However, when I participate in the Sudoku community, the puzzles all change at exactly the same time for More...

Yes Plum, I think that all the puzzles change over at midnight Melbourne time each day, as that is where Gath is, no matter where in the world you are.
