Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

It seems unlikely there can be a good -o-p solution, because there is a quasi-solution in which everything works except that there are 7's in both M and O. To rule out this solution, one would either have to tentatively fill in enough squares to discover the 7 in M (i.e. use possibilities) or use orphans to winnow down the options for M. I used orphans but no possibilities in my 5:54 solution.

Nada. Notwithstanding what Willo said, nada was not that difficult. You can figure out the only possibilities for T and Y, after which the solution is forced.

Willo, disagree with logic: 'quasi solution fail EITHER at end of chain complex enough to require +p OR earlier by +o THEREFORE (likely) not both -o -p'
Because, it is not proven quasi solution cannot also fail by something simpler but unseen.
Nevertheless, Aspie not found nada either.
