Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

nada (easy when you see it)
solve top 16D
C=D=F=G=1234

key: if CDFG form a 4x then 19D says F=G=12, which negates the 4x. 27D has no 4, 27D=123678, 7x in bottom two rows and solves.

Unlike Luca, couldn't get far w/o orphans.
+o+p
1. Pre-orphan: solve MI
2. Using orphans:
a) 19D not 469, so EF is 89 (1x in GHCD/2x in GHOP)
b) CD not 13 pair (must contain 4)
c) Solve upper left corner
d) Either V=6 or S=6 (KL=85, TUV=795).
e) All remaining 23A possibilities have same value for X (CGO=123 and KW contains 68 pair).
f) Solve 35A then rest of puzzle.

Aspie, even if I understood your key (which I don't because F is either 8 or 9), I think of 'if then' logic as a chain. Is there a typo? How can two cells in the same row (F and G) be equal to the same number (and that number > 9)?
free kakuro puzzles | online kakuro puzzles
whoops, typo. should be CDGH=1234, not CDFG

Don, the logic doesn’t need to be if-then.
For example, 4 in CD forces 12 in GH, therefore no 4x.
Or 4 in A is only way to have 4 in GH, therefore no 4x.
