Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
orphans, then only easy-ish after seeing where the 6,7 can't go, good puzzle

I can't see where the6 and 7 can't go.In my case they can go a few places and I can't eliminate any.

1 chain and 1 subchain - both guesses correct somehow

good puzzle. used orphans and then worked it to eliminate numbers. No chains necessary and somebody could probably work it w/out orphans.

Good puzzle. Used orphans. Like Chris I went through permutations trying to use 6 and 7 and eliminated that way. Took quite a while.

Yep, good puzzle, took me awful lot of time though

after orphans started chain with x=5 when that was eliminated everything was very easy.

Stuck for awhile, made a lucky guess and finished quite easily after that.

I can't see how 1 chain isn't necessary even after I determine Z=4 by looking at the 4's in the middle 2 cols! Am I missing something, addict?

No chains but needed orphans. Good puzzle.

Fairly straightforward after using orphans. Easy to see that each of two 24A rows will need a 6 or 7, which means that 14A can't have one. Easy from there.
